The Jan/Feb Find of the Month went to Peter Mancuso for locating Charles F. Jones, a New York policeman who played for the 1884 Brooklyn AA club. There is a listing of players who died shortly after their debuts. Also information was found on George Fisher and George Treadway. Pages 1-4 (121 Kb). Pages 5-8 (56 Kb)
The March/April Find of the Month went to Richard Malatzky, Peter Morris and Peter Mancuso, for work on William Kinsler, who caught one game for the 1893 New York Giants. Tom Hufford contributed a story about Larry Yellen and Jay Dahl. (129 Kb)
The May/June Find of the Month stemmed out of the article in the Baseball Research Journal about the two Charles Householders. Bruce Allardice, who is not a member of the committee, determined which one was the ballplayer. There is also biographical information on Harry East, Edward Flynn, Harry Jacoby and Gid Gardner. July/August's Find of the Month is Charles Witherow, a Treasury Department clerk who also played with the 1875 Washington Nationals. Per request at the Denver Convention, the list of the Top 20 missing ballplayers is republished. (37 Kb)
