SABR produces a variety of books and delivers them at no additional cost to members. Typically these books are the result of collaborative efforts by SABR members working together under the auspices of a research committee or chapter, and are either published by SABR and distributed by Nebraska University Press or are published by a mainstream publisher like Scribners under an arrangement whereby SABR joins in the initial printing on highly favorable terms.
For example, the two-volume set of bios on Deadball Era players, Deadball Stars of the American League and Deadball Stars of the National League by the Deadball Era committee was published by Potomac books for regular retail sale and shipped to SABR members directly from the printer. Similar arrangements were in place for The Fenway Project , Green Cathedrals and The SABR Baseball List & Record Book .
Other books, such as the reprint of F. C. Lane's classic Batting or the collected essays of the Statistical Reseach committee Best of By the Numbers, carry the SABR imprint.
