The year was 1986 and the Society for American Baseball Research published one of the more important books on baseball ballparks, Green Cathedrals. The book was well-received and quickly went out-of-print.
In 1994, an updated and revised version of Phil Lowry's classic was published both in hardcover and softcover by Addison-Wesley.
Today, with many more ballparks coming online, including the newest Busch Stadium in Saint Louis, the time is right to update, revise and publish this classic once again.
SABR is proud to publish in the summer of 2006 the newest edition of Phil Lowry's Green Cathedrals.
