Five hundred and thirty-nine attendees converged on the Seattle Renaissance Hotel to participate in SABR’s Annual Convention held June 28 through July 1, making it the best attended convention west of the Mississippi.
Flawless weather and great teamwork from the Northwest SABR Chapter convention committee, chaired by Anthony Salazar, led many to declare that SABR 36 was one of the best conventions ever produced.
A Big SABR Thank You!
The SABR administration would like to extend its warmest regards to the organizations and individuals who helped sponsor this event. Those sponsors include: The Seattle Mariners (platinum level), McFarland and Co. (Silver level), Louisville Slugger Museum (Bronze Level) and R. Plapinger’s Baseball Books (Participant Level). We hope that SABR members will also say "thank you" with their continued patronage of their goods and services.
The SABR office would also like to recognize convention chair Anthony Salazar for organizing and leading a top-notch local crew, Dave Eskenazi for his efforts in putting together a stellar Pacific Northwest Baseball Display, Jeff Bower for lining up the event speakers, Steve Steinberg for putting together the optional events, Neal Traven for managing the research presentations and the entire Northwest SABR chapter for their hardwork and cooperation.
Editor’s Note: We would like to thank and recognize Rick Schabowski, Dixie Tourangeau and Marilyn Miller for contributing their images and time to this recap.
