Bob Davids Chapter annual meeting (Arlington, VA)

We hope you'll join us for the 47th Annual Meeting of the Bob Davids Chapter, the first, and most active, chapter of the Society for American Baseball Research. Open to SABR members, non-members and guests.

Date: Saturday, January 20, 2018, from 9:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

Site: Holiday Inn Rosslyn at Key Bridge, 1900 North Fort Myer Drive, Arlington, VA 22209-1602, (703) 807-2000 -- walking distance from the Rosslyn Metro station on the Orange, Blue and Silver lines, and our chapter meeting location since 2010.  Parking is free in the hotel’s parking deck.

Cost: $38 for SABR members and guests; $19 for ages 15 and under.
Includes a lunch buffet with chicken parmigiana, vegetarian lasagna, tomato-basil mozzarella salad, antipasto salad, garlic bread, assorted desserts, coffee, water and iced tea, and morning and afternoon coffee service.

Speakers (with more to come, as always):

* Dick Bosman, the former pitcher for the Washington Senators from 1965 to 1971 who pitched in the final game of the expansion Senators.  Bosman also pitched for the Rangers, Indians, and A’s. In retirement he was the pitching coach for the Orioles and Rangers, and is currently the minor league pitching coordinator for the Tampa Bay Rays.

* Scouts Panel, a panel of major league scouts will share the stories of their career and discuss how scouting has changed over the years.

* Paul Scimonelli, the author of the new book Roy Sievers: ‘The Sweetest Right Handed Swing’ in 1950s Baseball, will speak about Sievers.

* Brian Englehardt, who will speak on former play and comedian Al Schacht.
