Jimmie Foxx

Jimmie Foxx started out as a catcher, but Connie Mack acquired Mickey Cochrane in the same year, and the future Hall-of-Fame catcher nabbed the position, pushing Foxx to the infield corners, mostly third in 1928 and first in 1929. (NATIONAL BASEBALL HALL OF FAME LIBRARY, COOPERSTOWN, N.Y.)
